Reporting Power Outages
When your power goes off, there are a few things you can do to help us in restoring your power as quickly as possible.
- Check your panel box (breaker or fuse box.) Make sure none are tripped or blown.
- If possible, check with neighbors and find out if their power is off. This is helpful to the crew in locating the problem.
- Call the Cooperative office at 814-445-4106 or 800-443-4255.
- You can also report outages on your mobile device by using our SmartHub app, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
What to expect when reporting an outage
When calling after normal business hours or during a large outage you will receive an automated attendant. Please listen to the instructions carefully. You will be asked your telephone number, account number, and any information that might be helpful to restoring the power, such as the location of a tree on a power line or broken pole. This information will be recorded and Cooperative Personnel will be notified immediately of the problem.
Whenever an outage occurs, please be certain Somerset Rural Electric is working to restore your power as soon as possible. We want to thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.
Please Be Careful!
Be aware of any hazards during an outage. Any line down can be very dangerous even if it does not appear to be. Keep your distance and make sure to tell us about any hazards that may be causing or may have caused the outage.
